What is a CAT Exam?
CAT (Common Admission Test) is an entrance exam at the national level for admission to MBA programs at 20 IIMs & around 1200 B-School in India. The CAT is a computer-based test that is designed to assess participant’s aptitude skills in the sections of Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), and Quantitative Ability (QA). CAT Exam is conducted every year by IIMs on the policy of rotation. Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode conducted this exam last year.

CAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for appearing in the CAT 2024 exam are as follows:
The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized university or institution with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories).
The candidate must have completed or be in the final year of the bachelor’s degree program at the time of applying for the CAT 2024 exam.
The candidate must have a valid and unique email ID and mobile number for communication purposes.
The candidate must fulfill any other specific eligibility criteria prescribed by the respective IIMs or other participating institutes.

Step 1: Visit the Website (Register/Signup)
On the website, www.iimcat.ac.in, click the ‘Register’ button under New Candidate Registration header to create your user profile. The Registration form window will open in your browser.
Step 2: Fill the General Information
Enter the personal details:- Name, Date of Birth, Email Address, Mobile Number(with OTP verification), Category
Step 3: Login to CAT Website & Fill the Personal Information
Using the system generated User ID and Password that you have received at the completion of Step 1 & 2 above, you can login as a “Registered Candidate” on the website and fill the Application Form for CAT 2022.

CAT 2024 Result
The result of the CAT 2024 exam will be declared by the conducting authority in the second week of January 2025 on the official website of CAT (https://iimcat.ac.in/).
The candidates will be able to download their scorecard by logging in using their user ID and password.
The scorecard will contain the sectional and overall scaled scores and percentiles of the candidates.
The scaled scores are obtained by normalizing the raw scores across different sessions to ensure fairness and equity.
The percentiles are calculated by ranking the candidates according to their scaled scores in each section and overall.
The result of the CAT 2024 exam will be valid for one year from the date of declaration.
CAT 2024 CUTOFFS
The CAT cutoff is the minimum percentile score required to qualify for the next stage of the admission process. The CAT cutoff varies for different IIMs and other MBA colleges, as well as for different categories of candidates.

CAT 2024 Cutoff (Expected)
The CAT 2024 cutoff is not yet released, but based on the previous year trends, we can expect the following ranges:
– For the best IIMs (Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Lucknow, Kozhikode, Indore), the CAT cutoff for the general category is expected to be between *99 to 100 percentile. For the reserved categories, it may be lower at **97 to 98 percentile*.
– For the newer and baby IIMs (Raipur, Rohtak, Udaipur, Kashipur, Trichy, Ranchi, Shillong, Visakhapatnam, Jammu), the CAT cutoff for the general category is expected to be above *90 percentile. For the reserved categories, it may be lower at **75 to 85 percentile*.
– For the top non-IIMs (SPJIMR, MDI Gurgaon, FMS Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, NITIE Mumbai), the CAT cutoff for the general category is expected to be between *90 to 99 percentile. For the reserved categories, it may be lower at **80 to 90 percentile*.

– The number of seats available in each IIM and other MBA colleges
– The reservation policy of each IIM and other MBA colleges
